Xbox 1 had Thompson Drive chewed the hell out of game discs...
Xbox 360 had HUGE RRoD I went though 3 of them... friend had the same problem...
so IF ... BIG IF I was to buy one... I would wait 4 to 6 months...
Why cause than I could find out if there was anything wrong with the build.
Also waiting is not so bad... get a bundle or game packed in on a sale and know that the system is solid is a huge piece of mind...

Just make the controller with a charge pack like nintendo like sony so there is no more batteries...
This way when the power get low you plug it in and it charges the battery pack.... and you are good to go...
the way MS has it now is you plug in the controller and it will draw power from the system and not the batteries... it does not charge them.... it just does not uses them...
